National Governors Association-ECOS Congressional Briefing

On April 10, 2024, the National Governors Association’s Economic Development and Revitalization Task Force and ECOS hosted a recorded (see below) Congressional briefing to educate Congressional staff, Administration officials, and other stakeholders on the environmental priorities of states and territories focused on the need for adequate federal funding to implement federal programs and for full funding for the State Revolving Funds (SRFs). Speakers included: ECOS President Elizabeth Biser, Secretary, North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality; ECOS Air Committee Chair Leah Feldon, Director, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality; ECOS Environmental Justice Workgroup and Steering Committee Co-Chair Serena McIlwain, Secretary, Maryland Department of the Environment; Jess Byrne, Director, Idaho Department of Environmental Quality;  and Emma Pokon, Commissioner-Designee, Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation alongside Jordan Marsh, Director of Federal Affairs on behalf of NGA’s Economic Development and Revitalization Task Force South Carolina Governor’s Office Co-Chair, Jim McCleskey, Washington Representative, North Carolina Governor’s Office on behalf of NGA’s Economic Development and Revitalization Task Force, and Karen Kudelko, Senior Deputy Director of Federal Affairs, Michigan Governor’s Office.
